    Question 997 waypoint?

Finally loaded some waypoints to check out this weekend. Little Icons much better.

My question is why are the waypoint icons so far out of position? The lat and long of the waypoints are correct, but it shows the structure waypoint in the middle of the river channel and I know for a fact that the brush piles are on the channel edge. That is about a 100 foot error. Is this typical of the waypoint placement relative to the map?

    Reference the red circles.

Yep, that a good waypoint if you guys in Tn want it.

Tom, the base map on my lake doesn't match the lake either. I've got some marked out on the bank according to the map but in reality they're in 12 foot water 300 feet from shore. Also a lot of places where it shows water may be a 50 foot tall bluff right at shore. Guess whoever makes the map maybe flies over a little bit high or fast or maybe it was foggy and he didn't fly over like he told his boss he did. I don't know.

I know this is OT on this but I just got a new Garmin GPSMap 76Cx and while my lake is a small corp lake that is in the pre-loaded plain map it shows a couple of my best spots on dry land.

Tom mine was like that. But after swapping over to a HD map. Its spot on. Or it is on Pickwick.
Our old Buddy Todd is on Sardis fishing today. I could not go, So give him my seat in the old mans boat I fish with. So he is getting to fish the lake with a guy that has fished it for 30+ years.

    Canepole,

Will you send two or three waypoints (Lat & Long) number so I can look into this and also tell me what lake it is on. I know you do not want to give the world your hot spots so you can email directly at [email protected] .

I set the position format to display degrees, minutes, seconds so I could compare loaded waypoints to my printed waypoints list. I got them printed in degrees, min, sec, tenth sec.

was: dd.mm.mmm is now: dd.mm.ss (HB format settings)

I do not have the dd.mm.mmm position format option in Ozie Explorer mapping.

Humminbird PC corrects for any position format differences.
