Well, I am pleased with the nvb maps. I was using the gps to run the drops on big sandy. It did fairly good. The Icon couldn't make up it's mind whether it was a boat or a inner tube. It Kept changing it's mind. I must have a female unit.

NVB maps are far better than the maps on my Garmin (276). The Garmin has 2001 fishing hot spots. Map upgrade ain't worth 100 bucks.

Haven't loaded waypoints on the 997 yet. Will do this this coming week and see how it works.

So far, so good. Lots easier to see than the 797. If I could see better, prob wouldn't have so much troub with 797. I don't have cockpit problems.:p

Neither unit (garmin or Hbird maps) can compare to the performance of the Ky Hydrographics maps. I had my laptop checking the other two units map accuracy. Hard to explain this stuff unless you see/ or have seen them sided by side.
