My Goodness - If one has to worry about coord secrets for bream beds, then fishing has become WAY too serious! By the way - Thanks for sharing the pic. Really is neat technology!
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

Maybe later this summer I'll get more good stuff for show and tell, I maybe taking the show on the road. I had to put mom in nursing home and so I put the house up for sale. If it sells I'm going to do some thinking and the arrow points towards Devils Lake. I've always wanted to map parts of it in an accuracy where the contours would show the road and ditches and with the side scan there shouldn't be any thing missed. I can do a lot of show and tell on the road too if that comes to be. Next big decision would be where to winter.

What is a 997? Is it a Depth finder? and who makes it?

It's some kinda fancy-dancy, electrical gizmo thingy that is supposed to tell you how deep the water is. Made by a company call Humminbird, I think.

Definitely a depth finder Definitely made by Hummingbird. It has that ability to look sideways as well as down. You can also take pictures of what it sees. Awesome to say the least. wish I had one, but at about $1000 plus I don't see it happening.

I was on a small local lake recently and I saw this "pitting" on the bottom in several locations but it was out more in the middle of the lake....strange.
