I put a lot of thought into a solution. I kept referring back to the picture and then finally figured out what the problem is. I hate to tell you this, but your problem is that your TM is a Motorguide. Buy a Minn Kota and you won't have any problems like this.

Just kidding of course. Sounds like others have solutions that will work, but you asked a good question. How did it get out of whack to start with? Has anyone contacted Motorguide to see what they say?

I had same problem often with a Motorguide, switched to a Minn Kota and cured it.

I never look I know where I'm going by my foot placement but I've been using a foot control trolling motor for 30 yrs. But do what crappie cowboy said it works.

Well I have determined that you just cant grab onto it and force it back into place....it wont budge. So I guess Im going to have to take the head off and see what mess that gets me into.
