Sounds like it could be interferance. Take them and move away from each other and see what happens. I had my GPS puck & radio antenna about that close and never had any problems.

My FM works fine. But turn the Depth finder on and it does not pick up. I can play a CD, but like to keep up on the weather. And as soon as I turn the Depth finder on, The radio signal goes out.
Now the GPS receiver and radio antenna it within 12" of each other. Think that is it?

Sounds Like You May Have A Common Ground. I Would Check That First. You Should Have A Separate Ground. I Had The Same Problem With 2 Units Before And A Separate Ground Fixed It. Maybe This Will Help You.
Pete, the radio in my boat won't pick up much but a "buzz-buzz-buzz"
until I cut the Vexilar off. DF makes the buzz noise through radio speakers.
CDs not bothered. Funny, but 787 H'bird sitting right in the middle of them
doesn't seem to bother radio much, if any. But that Edge III makes it go
NUTS!
ps my ant is on opposite side of boat, but could be that the cables run parrallel or cross,
haven't really looked into it yet.
