When I'm running the motor at lower speeds, the image on the screen appears fine.
When I'm running the motor at higher or full speed...the image on the sonar gets all screwed up. Depth ranges jumps around...screen gets cluttered up...and then freezes.
I have to turn the unit off and drop the speed down for it to read normal.
What's the problem?!
I'd rather be fishing!
Sounds like your transducer is not adjusted correctly.
yes or the puck is loose jumping up or down at the higher speeds
Puck not adjusted or in wrong location in turbulent water.
Yep' they are right,,,,,
I have a 787 and had a lot of trouble adjusting it, mine is on a pan fisher and with the flat bottom at the back of the boat I moved it between the last rib and the outside of the boat with the middle of the transducer lined up with the bottom of the boat. If the water is calm I have very little interference but in choppy water it will brake up at around 18mph.

I have a Humminbird 585c mounted on a Lowe 180w. My Lowe has a "Step" hull & my bird does the same thing. Not much you can do but mount the transducer on the step if that's the problem. Causes turbulant water at high speeds at the stern.

I have a glass boat and they had to make a bracket and set the puck back 2 ". It works fine now.
