First post here, glad I found this site! Lotsa chatter here on electronics.

I am wondering what you all are using to mount say an 1197 bird to your boat? I am looking at the 2.25 dia ram-mount system again. That is what is holding up my 113 atm. I will need to be more creative with this install though. I will probably have to come up from below the drivers console on the left. The set up cane pole had really caught my eye but my rod locker door flips up and dont think I could mount it outside of the console.

Biggest pain here is knowing what I want to do but not being able to just run down to the store buy it, try it and return it if I dont like it. Looking for some ideas, I heard of some of the pro's running a 'bird SI unit hidden under the dash of their boat in tournements. (guess they cant make the lowrance sponsers mad eh?) :D I am thinking that is something I might like to attempt, just wondering how it's done if anyone knows. Thanks!!
