Does the gps receiver need to be above the sides of the boat for a better signal or can I mount it on the deck which is probably 4 to 5 in. below the sides. I would rather mount flush to deck so it would be out of the way of big feet.

A picture is worth a thousand words-you have a nice rig-thanks a lot for the info. Did you run into any problems with mounting the transducer-distance from prop-what kinda sealant did you use. Thanks

I did not have any problems.. But I did use a board to mount it on. 2 Screws in it And I can move it all I need to. And not have any more holes in the hull.

Fellas got a question for ya. can you get the unit with internal gps receiver or does it have to be an external. One other question on the nvb package I fish local water 99 percent of the time. could you tell me any other reason to purchase the nvb, or would I be better off just to buy a chip? Nice boat Thanks for the help fellas![]()
Mounted mine on my running light pole. Had it mounted back near the xducer like Pete. got in a channel once and lost signal. Engine was blocking signal.
Looks neat too.
