    Default Humminbird 565 questions

I fish in 10' to 30' water most of the time and was thinking the 20/60 transducer on the 565 would work great at these shallower depths. Anyone tried it? Also they make a 565 portable with a suction cup transducer. I have several boats that I fish out and is this a good way to go?

I use a 565, and I like it ok. Sometimes wish you could switch from 20* cone to 60* cone, but you can't with the 565. It's a great unit for the price!

I have a 565 and think its great. Have never really had anything much bigger or better to compare it with, so my experience about it might be limited. I do however like it because it is easy to use and shows some really good details. Caught it on sale at bps for around $170

On their website it has the 565 as a dual beams unit having 60 and 20 degrees cones. Is this a new feature? Can you not switch from one to another?

    from the 565 handbook,

"For dualbeam fishfinders, when Fish ID+ is turned off, only the narrow beam is used to detect sonar returns. These returns will often result in "arches" forming on the display, indicating potential targets."

It has a split screen option that will show 60 on 3/4 of the screen and 20 on the other 1/4.
