I got one finally!:D Got to looking at mounting it and think I got a problem? I have a 1995 model 1542 Fisher and the front deck is about 1"-1.5" lower than the front rub rail. I have noticed most of these motor have been mounted hanging over the front edge a couple inches. The bracket that is on this boat fits a Motor Guide scissor lift style now and fits straight down along the left side of the front deck. I don't think the bracket is wide enough to mount the base for the MinnKota.

Could a platform be built out of treated wood and be strong enough? I would rather have the motor deploy off the point of the bow instead of off the left side.

Is there a pre-fab bracket for these motors to adapt this kind of deck? I looked on MinnKota's website and found brackets that allow you to remove the trolling motor, but nothing that looked like it would offset the drop on the deck.

Machine shop to build a mounting bracket?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I will try to post a pic later to show what I mean.
