    Default 1197 scuttlebutt......

Read somewhere on the Humminbird SI yahoo groups the 1197 is ethernet capable. They headed to a PC type configuration? Maybe.

One thing obvious is the FAT32 file system on the SD cards. That is a MS DOS file system. I don't know what they are doing yet.

    Interesting.

Are you mistaking the new Lowrances, they have an new Ethernet connection. I've had the users group turned off cause of all the mail they generate. The Humminbirds have the InterLink. Or it could be some thing else on that plug besides the video out.

Ok, you saw the post J Cole from Humminbird posted when I questioned what that center port was going to be for. They got enough pins on that connector for it but we'll have to wait and see what the cable has when it comes out. Even if it does have the ethernet capability it'll likely be proprietory so only Humminbirds will read it and not PC's.
It could be handy if it has the power to share the sonar graphics for people fishing the front and back of a boat so they both can have a running sonar screen but you'd have to have a software way to choice a master and slave unit so the person up front would have control while up there.
