naw, don't have the grease but use contact cleaner, that should of cleaned the contact areas,, i believe the grease would only help protect from any moisture getting to them..if I am wrong, please someone chime in! Thank you for all help...kinda lost without that locator at the consol
I wouldn't use contact cleaner. It can attack plastic and rubber, causing more bad than good. I use toothbrush and alcohol. If that doesn't clean enough, then toothbrush and toothpaste, then rinse good with water, followed by the toothbrush and alcohol. After thoroughly drying, coat with bulb grease.
Also, if the connector is large enough, use a dry rubber eraser. Blow off debris. This is the best way if it is possible to get on the pins with an eraser.
Don't forget, most of these pins are gold flashed. Very thing coating of gold, so don't scrub hard and don't scrape with an abrasive or a Bowie knife.
