I have never used a Lowrance of any kind, I have always used Garmin. I just bought a new boat that has X-85 sonar unit and a seperate unit for the GPS globalmap 1600 and they are both going in the drink 12 miles offshore in 60 feet of water to be replaced by my trusty Garmin.
Don't toss the stuff, there's an x85 on ebay right now that's up to 200.00
