Don't understand why you can't use a card reader and install these. I'm tring to find out which way I can get these maps on the water. Need to find out which model Ipac's will work, what size SD card you need, and anything else that would help. I know I need it to be Bluetooth enabled for wireless. What other features does it need? There should be something on Ebay that will work without having to buy a new one. I don't have to have the latest and greatest.
I know the 2190,2195,2490,2495 all work. There are lots of them that will work, but I am only familiar with these. These are all bluetooth capable too.
It is a pain in the ash to hook a handheld gps to these devices (cables and cradles). Thats why I use bluetooth.
Nope. Can't put maps on a gps yet, however Ozie is working with Lowrance on something. Whatever it is will be complicated.
The requirements for CE is on the Ozie web page.
I got a 512 meg sd card. It is almost full. I would get at least a 1 gig sd.
Once you get this stuff set up, ain't nothing can touch it as for accuracy. You know what I mean here.
Yep. I love this laptop (tablet). It is wireless too. What I like about this stuff is I don't have to beg any manufacturer for crap. If it breaks, I can fix it. Remember, 10,000 waypoints. hmmmmmmm good.
Ky Hydrographics is very accurate. I have used my 797 to verify some stuff.
I am planning on filling in the shallows with the 797 and DrDepth.
Half the fun for being on the water is using this stuff. Most of the time I will catch fishes. I don't have to catch the limit everytime I am out. I don't have anything to prove to anybody. I can't eat that many fishes anyway.
If you need help with this set up, let me know. Pat Hahs will help you too. He is a fine fellow.
