YES
NO
I leave mine on, but then again, $150 bucks and I'd have a new one just like it. Pulled it off a couple times right after I got it, then got to the lake and didn't have it one time....still in the house. I leave it on now.
If I had one of the $1000-$2000 units, without a doubt it would come in with me....

Mine stays in. My boat is in the garage.

but, still pulled them off and stored inside. I'm an apt dweller, and when I had a boat, I had to bring in DF - TM - all my gear - prop - and battery !! (boat was parked in apt parking lot).
When using my buddy's boat (with or without him) ... DF comes off for the ride to and from the lake (same as I did for my own boats). I always heard that road travel vibrations were not good for DF's. And his boat is garaged, when not in use !!
But, if staying on lake and parking boat in a marina slip (>1day stay) ... then the electronics stay in/on the boat, until time to pack up and come home.
And I'm not talking about high end/high dollar stuff, either :p

Boat is keep in the garage so I leave mine in the boat.

Nope. The boat has always gotten priority over vehicles and stays in the garage 24/7 when not in use. Therefore, the electronics stay on.

Keep it in a locked garage.
