    Default Fish finder preference

What’s your preference for fish finder setup for the front of your boat?
i have a Solix side view on my boat but wanting to add another that would allow another view, either down scan or ffs.
I normally just longline or fish docks and brush.

I don’t have ffs but I do have a Garmin at the console and a Garmin Kraken trolling motor that wireless connects. I can control, route, plot paths etc which has been incredibly useful while long lining. When I get ffs I’m going to stick with Garmin (I know between the chartplotters it has to be wired). I’ve had good experiences and Garmin’s customer service is excellent

I think that those who wish to control the trolling motor from the fishfinder's maps go with the same brand as the trolling motor--Garmin/Garmin, Lowrance/Lowrance, Humminbird/Minn Kota. I've run Humminbird (and Minn Kota) for a long time, which is why my bow and console have 1199s for 360 and side imaging; however, I do use Garmin at the bow for FFS. Because my Ultrex is a non-Quest with Advanced GPS, I'll still plan to upgrade to a newer Humminbird when the 1199s die or I finally decide that I want to be able to use the circle feature.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.

Tradbow what is your trolling motor? There is no right or wrong just preference. I just stuck with a brand lol
Also I would suggest going to Bass Pro, Academy etc to see them in person and see what you like before you buy.

I have an exterra with the transducer. SI compatible with a 15” SI Solix on the bow. I have a 7” Helix DI on the steering console. I’m looking to make changes to suit my fishing preferences and not quite sure how to go about it. At my age this will probably be the last upgrade of electronics.

My trolling motor is an Ulterra with spot lock and so transducer built in. I need to clarify a little bit about my setup. My trolling motor and Solix were purchased last year but surgery and recovery kept me off the lake so I haven’t been able to use them yet. The only way I have been told to use my side imaging Solix is to keep my boat speed between two and three. I need something that will still let me scan docks and brush from a boat stationary or moving 1 mph or less. I’m leaning toward ffs but don’t know enough about electronics to know what I need

I fish Garmin and LS. I upgraded with them to match plans to go ro a Force in the future. If i didnt care about matching the trolling motor i personally would go with Lowrance and their ffs. If you just going to longline mostly i would save the coin either way
