Man have you been talking to Todd again? LOL

Wow sounds like I would have to still use the foot control to get the right speed. I may just hold off on this .
And look at just buying a new motor next year. The Terrova looks good.

I fished with D.I. and he had something different. It was a smaller wired unit he held or hung on the windshield. Allot of the pro's use them. They are allot easy to us and more durable. PM him, I'm sure he'll give you some info..Good luck
I will be buying one to try and have it for a back up if I don't like it

Default Do No Discard The Foot Petal

I HAVE A NEW TERROVA RT80 AUTO PILOT. AS BEST I CAN COUNT IT IS AN 8SPEED TROLLING USING THE WIRELESS KEY PAD. I AM FINDING ON MY NEW TRITON 196 TA THAT THE 1ST CLICK IS TOO SLOW AND THE 2ND CLICK IS TOO FAST IN CALM WIND. I WILL BE PURCHASING A FOOT PEDAL FOR PRECISE SPEED CONTROL.

Mc, I have the same problem and I’m not bashing them. It probably help save my life. Try to swim with one arm. I do lots of circles and go no where.LOL. That unit that DI uses is not made by Minn Kota. It’s very will made. And can clip on your belt. It's the best I've seen for a guide to have speed control and be able to tend their clients. By the way, check him out on that free Midwest crappie. ( clarks hill) He’s off chasing bad guys right on but does check in when he can.

I think if you set the initial speed with the foot control to what ever speed you want, then engage the copilot, this speed (set by the foot control) will be engaged and the TM will remain at this speed until you ramp up or ramp down the speed by the copilot..
