Yep. But you can only manage GPS type stuff and system type updates. They coulda let us have access to the bmp images, but no. You gotta pull out your memory card to read/save your images. You can playback your recordings, but you can't save your recordings to your computer. They could have gave us access to this too, but no. Probably come out with this feature in yet another MODEL.Originally Posted by DTG
Sooner or later the memory connector will wear out or you will get water in the SD slot. It will have to be shipped back to Humminbird for repair. It is endless.

FISH-ON!!!!!
you have to mount it 15" away or more from your main motor.
it also has to have smooth hull in front of it so you don't get bubbles flowing across the TD.
Mine works great, sure can find structure on the bottom I didn't know was there.
Fishing is a way of life. Teach your grandchildren to fish, hunt and enjoy the outdoors
its approx. 15" but offset to right side of motor. the transducer now is level with the bottom of the boat when motor trimmed down completely about 5 inches betweeen boat and motor. it should shoot below that according to angles in manual

Finely got my Lowrance back and they did an exchange.. It works. The 997 works great. Real easy to use but I have to make a bracket for the transducer. But boy I’m happy with it. I ran both units together and only had trouble with the lowrance when I was in forty ft. or more of water. If the bracket doesn’t work I’ll leave both units on the boat. I was also worried about the sonar on the 997 and now I think it’s better then on Lawrence…. Thank for all the input

If both are running same transponder frequency, and they are within a close proximity of one another, either unit can pick up the main or harmonic frequency of the other. This causes strange things to appear.Originally Posted by DTG

I found your post on SI yahoo groups. I see you got the same response I got when I asked the same question. Zilch.. I am not supprized. Bunch of Bassturds there. Humminbird guys were visiting here for a while. Somebody must of peed on their campfire. Prob me.
If you can, takesome pictures of your transom (different angles) and post them here. There are some knowledgeable folks here. Tell us what it's doing or not. I am sure we (collectively) can figure it out.

Cane Pole, no one peed in my campfire – but I wouldn’t put it past any of the Scouts in my son’s Troop! No, something far worse has kept me from posting here, on the Yahoo Si Group and other sites: work! Have a lot going on at home now as well which leaves very little time to get out on the posting boards and help out. To think that I have to show up here five – six days a week and actually do something to? Why they should be happy to pay me just for showing up! Thankfully none of my bosses reads this web site… :D If you don’t see a response from me than I either: have no idea, think the question was already answered by someone else, or have seen the post and so would not know to respond to it. I am usually always available by e-mail though.
Humminbird Greg - it looks like it would be well worth it for the company
to pay someone to keep tabs on the message boards.
Maybe you can con them into paying you to read Crappie.com?![]()
