I see it on the screen and then it goes to the left of the screen and disapears. I guess the pole and the boat is where I am having the problem. I am using the forward mode on my LVS 34 and only had it in the water 4 or 5 times. The trolling motor mounts tell you exactly where stuff is while the pole mount is a little different as I can scan an area regardless of the direction of my trolling motor. Hard to explain what I am saying, but basicilly I am trying to figure out where the boat is as compared to the structure and fish showing on the screen.
It will now be the distance from the pole instead of the bow of the boat so think of it like that. One thing that may help you until you get use to the transducer being in a different place since it's on a pole now is to turn on the grid overlay. If the grid's on & you're looking at a school of crappie on a tree that's 30 feet away they're 30 feet from the pole. If you ease up towards something you want to fish slowly you shouldn't over run it. I usually stop a safe distance away & spot lock if i'm having to cast to them but when the fish are deep enough or there's enough water color i usually get close enough to vertical jig them which i'd rather do anyway.
