I'm assuming that you're gonna be using Perspective Mode, considering that shallow of depth ?? If so, then you would want the transducer "below" the bottom of the boat in order to see both sides. That would hold true if you were using "Forward View" and wanted a 360deg view.

If the tdx is mounted for "Forward View", you can tilt the tdx back a click or two to raise the ping towards the surface ... where you can see your jigs "splashdown" on the water's surface.

Couple of questions : Where's your Garmin unit mounted ?? And is your trolling motor "auto deploy" (and the reason for wanting a mounting pole for the tdx) ??
