You are correct on the assumption and it will be a upgrade n quieter replacement when this thing dies. I’m gonna get the good out of it for what the cooler cost and then some.
Appreciate the Amazon link cause I like a product that has been tested by others with a honest opinion.

I spent a lot of hours listening to that sound �� i didnt really mind it, i kind of tune those things out, but all you could hear was that noise when i tried to record video. The cooler is worth its weight, the bubbler needs an upgrade for what it costs!
