One big thing I've learned on seeing jigs is to have depth set to manual rather than auto. With the above mentioned settings I have no problem seeing a 1/32 oz jig at 45' and following it back to boat although there is a slight dead zone at about 20 ' that I will occasionally loose it then pick it back up around 15'.
