Since the Onix though Humminbird has been rushing to market with some products riddled with flaws. While they do eventually correct them. Some problems are to be expected. But not to the most basic of functions. As in the incorrect depth fiasco on the Helixes.

I experienced a nightmare with my Helix 10 G2 Mega SI. I solved all the problems by finding work arounds. Took me quite awhile. But was done before Humminbird started releasing updates to fix. Prior to the Helix 10. I owned a 1198C which was flawless the entire time I owned it.

I just wonder if the MEGA + 360 is causing headaches. They released so few but already complaints are appearing in the forums
One that I am aware of is the water contact sensor. Has a manufacturing process film that has to be cleaned before proper operation is attained.

I help a lot of people with their electronics. Not as a business although neighbors wonder sometimes. Mostly I can get their stuff to operate properly. When I can't it has to go back to the manufacturer. Of these kinds Humminbird leads the pack. Might be because that Humminbird leads sales in this area. Lowrance used to be kingpin in my area but that info is maybe a decade old.

Not picking on Humminbird just relating what I have observed. I still have and use the Helix G2 I mentioned. A lot of the stuff found to be in error. Should have been picked up by a more diligent quality control. At least their customer service is great in resolving a lot of the issues.

Hopefully Humminbird turns the corner on these issues. For now I made a personal decision not to invest in something. That is not going to work as it is advertised .
Long time ago I was marketing/sales director for a fishing sonar (genetron) company. When we released new products expected issues. We went through many revisions until we got it right. Engineering told me it the normal process. I like the mega 360 images have seen and here in Minnesota no rush to get one on order. the more that get them either issues will surface if any or not. I do have the HB 360 on a da-ducer stick. Plugged into a Helix mega 10 G2N, networked to a G2N Helix 10 Sonar. On the same boat have panoptix PS-30 and 31 with 1040's no live scope yet no plans to up garde at this point. My issue to upgrade is one unit needs to be upgraded to a g3N no matter how I cut it at a cost of $2000.00 plus. I agree with Hays. Just might wait a bit, would ne nice to just put the units on in the spring and go fishing. Seems like the right at the start spend a lot of time re-rigging.
