Thread: Getting power to heading sensor

Is there a plug that can be installed into the bundle block that plugs into the back of the display,then spliced into the heading sensor for it's power source on a Helix 10 chirp mega DI? It would be very easy to wire and would not require an off on switch.

If you already have an external GPS antenna plugged into the Comm port of the display - you'll need to check for 12v power in the short pigtail at the connector end of the GPS antenna cable ...

Thanks Rickie, that space is empty. To make sure I understand, If I get the NMEA-Com plug and hook it to the heading sensor, red to red and black to black, and
cut off the other two wires I can use it for a power source. Is there any danger of noise to the display doing it this way?

I honestly don't remember anyone doing this to be able to have precedent to look back on ...

It might be a good idea to call HB and speak with a tech ... 1-800-633-1468 ...
