I have the Gen 2 Helix 9 and I have my first preset at the full screen side image, probably around 60-70’. Then the second preset is SI/DI, and my third is full screen 2D

I use SI set to scan out 50’. Then if I see something in water column that looks like fish I switch to DI to look at it.

Now you might should do the exact opposite of what I doHelix-9 si I have found that on the Side Image, fish look like bright gold dots or dashes, depending on their size. But, I haven’t been able to have as much time with it on the water as I would like to have.

As I understand on 2 d sonar . amount of surface shown is 3-1 on narrow , 1-1 on medium but have found nothing on wide setting . figured you have to be in deep water, not sure .

I'm not understanding what Menu selection you mention ...

Is it the "Zoom Width" Menu under the Sonar tab ...??
