    Default Copying a mapcard

Is there a way to make a copy of a map card without ruining the original card?
Here's my thoughts.... I bought a card but I have two different boats. Since I own the original, what's wrong with making a clone for my personal use on the other boat to keep from removing and swapping every time?
I don't want to do anything immoral, illegal, or even sketchy. It would just be easier this way.

    Thoughts/Ideas?

That won't work with Navionics because there is a card-unique hash code (signature) written on there that will not be correct on another card. Not sure what brand map card you have, but I would hazard a guess they are all using something similar for copy-protection.

Thanks for the help. I have an older Navionics (2009 I think) card but just bought a new lake master card and would like to copy it for use on both boats Humminbird units. 998C HDSI and Helix 12 mega.

Just bought 2 new hummingbird's and a card for each. Honest people would do the right thing and others would duplicate and sell for money. I feel your pain.

You can go to Lakemaster and download each lake for 7 to 10 bucks each. It takes a card per lake however. If they have the lake you fish .

I would have like to done this for Joe Pool Lake. But it appears they do not offer this service for this lake.

I'll look into the lakemaster single lake option. It would be nice if you could add them individually to the basemap.

    Thanks guys!
