The depth readings on both my units may be right, and they may not. Depends on which time I look at them, but I'm not updating until they fix this mess. H'bird ticks me off selling units that cost as much as they do and having non-working updates. To me that shows their lack of customer appreciation.

If the instructions on Humminbird website are followed it will work every time.

on the headunit go in and change the setting for the ipilot for the auto upload data to off. its on by default. if you read on the software update page on humminbird it tells you to do that before installing the update. if the humminbird rep didnt know that then he dont know his products very well.

It doesn’t give the i-Pilot options in settings unless it is connected to the i-Pilot. I was 300 miles away from my i-Pilot when the rep updated my units. Now it shuts off when i-Pilot is connected so I can’t get to that option in settings before it shuts down

roll it back to previous version and then change setting then update. i didnt realize that you couldnt change the setting for the ipilot without it being hooked up. sorry about that.

That’s what I’m going to have to do but I have to get the 1.64 software from Humminbird, revert back to 1.64, turn off auto upload and reinstall 1.84

What are the improvements or advantages to doing this update anyway?
