I have 2014 pro team 175 TF and I also got a new transducer the Lowrance total scan (about 11 inches long for the Elite TI). I have searched and searched the internet, called Bass Pro and still not sure what to do. The plastic mounting bracket forces the transducer too deep in the water, about 1 1/2 inches. I used the same holes the lowrance skimmer transducer was in. Maybe because I reused the holes or too much force from the water, the screws started pulling out. I would like the transducer on the step for good readings slow and at speed. I hope this thread gets some responses to help us both out. My plan for now is to move closer to the center of the boat mounted on a piece of PVC house trim as close to the wire mesh screen as I can. The ducer will still be a little deep in the water, any further the motor will hit it. In the pic you can see the holes from old transducer and the other with my PVC trim board I intend to use two bolts for the board and then attach transducer to the board. Will my idea work guys or should I give up the higher speed readings.
