Default Lake Master and Smart Strike.

After a lot of research and speaking with fishing buddy Merv....I used Chart Select to order Old Hickory Lake. I also got the Smart Strike option. I fished Old Hickory over 50 years ago....and from the bank. Now that I am fishing it from a boat I needed a good map.....the Lake Master with 1 foot contours fit the bill. Old Hickory is shallow....and most always dingy. You really need to be aware of the depth on that lake. The Smart Strike feature intrigued me. No it is not going to tell you where the fish are...but on a lake you don’t know you can plug in specie.....and many other parameters.....to put you in places that may hold the specie of fish you are looking for. So I added it to the download for 4.99. I will be using it this year and will report back how well Humminbird’s algorithms work. Just sitting in the garage I played around with it and plugged in bluegill in the spring....along with other parameters to get the results. Here are a couple of images. The Purple shows where bluegill are likely to be....as you zoom in the fish symbols go away and it becomes solid purple. The next several weeks I will be setting up the parameters to find crappie and will report back how it works out.
