I'm an odd ball... I like side imaging on my trolling motor. I never had it until last year, but opted for it when I switched brands and got a new electronics setup. I crappie fish and bass fish and it has good aspects for each. When fishing a brush top...from a distance... I will turn the trolling motor head to scan out front or slowly sweep to the side to make sure I know where the brush top still is (when I don't use a marker). When bass fishing I like to drift down the banks, a little ways off from the bank, and keep the side scanning the bank aimed a little forward of my position (as much as I can between steering) to get a sneak peak of some cover or structure, or sometimes fish, that is coming up. Kind of a poor man's 360 I guess. I have found a lot more good fishing places this way though. But its just another tool to have.
Ultimately though.... I want to add the 360 to my setup.... It will compliment the way I fish a lot and I'm looking forward to adding it this spring.
