Inspect the cable "strain relief" rubber piece where the cable enters the xducer housing ...
These sometimes dry rot and crack, allowing water intrusion into the housing - which could then freeze and expand enough to Crack the housing ...
Water intrusion into the housing is not a good thing and could potentially short out a channel in the xducer ...
Shorting out a channel could potentially fry a transmitter in the head unit ...
It's best to replace the xducer ... just in case ...
