Default Difference in Gen 1 and Gen 2 birds

So color me stupid, but what are the/are there any differences in the Gen 1 and Gen 2 units? Better resolution etc? I’m in the market for a new unit, and found a nice deal on a Helix 7 Gen 1 SI unit, but was wondering if the Gen 2’s were THAT much better. FWIW I’m probably not going to be able to afford the SI in the Gen 2, and was looking at just going with the Helix 7 DI/GPS combo to better fit my price range. Thanks in advance!

MEGA is worth the extra money but the Gen 1 is still a very nice unit.

I didn’t think the helix 7 had mega capabilities anyway?

Same here. Looks like the Gen1 unit I had my eye on sold, so guess I’ll go with the gen2 unit. It’s going to be on the trolling motor anyway, so SI probably wasn’t the best option anyway.

I think the Gen 2's have a faster processor and updated menu system. And Gen 2's have Chirp.

Whats a "nice deal" if you dont mind me asking?

The gen1 had SI and everything for $400. Cheapest I’ve found the Gen 2 with DI/GPS is $450

The Garmin Striker Plus 7sv is a nice unit if you dont mind making your own maps with it instead of having them already loaded

I paid $440 for that same Helix 7di a year ago, so $450 isnt a deal. I took mine back only because I wanted SI instead
