    Default Light 12V Battery

Hey Guys....I'm thinking about getting a second trolling motor to mount mid-ships for side pulling. This is on Walt's 16' Tracker (which already has a bow mounted TM). I'm looking at a Minn Kota 40 lb. thrust model, with transom mount, that we can put on and take off for use on our small boat (the 12 footer) when the need arises.

I don't want to get another heavy deep cycle battery to run this secondary trolling motor and we are not planning on trolling for more than ~4 hrs. at any given time. So.....I looked on Amazon.com and found this:

It seems pretty cost effective and has many good reviews on this site. Am I being foolish in trying to go "light" with the battery? Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks Folks!

I have that identical battery in an electric golf caddy. Not a cart you ride in but a motorized 3 wheel cart just for your golf bag. This allows me to walk without the back strain of pulling or pushing a cart up hills
It runs 18 holes, over 5 miles, carrying a heavy golf bag and has about 50% charge left. I took one that had weakened after years of use and run my aerator off it. It has run 2 days non stop on a weak battery.
I would think it would be perfect for short term trolling in a smaller boat.
