    Default researching

I have a Lowrance Elite7 Chirp on the front of my stick steer boat. I have been doing a lot of research on the Garmin Striker 7 sv. I hate the idea that I can't get the GT 52 transducer. Now, Lowrance has come out with the new Hook 2 7x tripple shot with the same 2d, down scan, and side imaging, and GPS plotter as the Garmin at the price of the Garmin on sale for last years model. The hook 2 7x is supposed to require less tuning. I am not into mapping, way points and already have GPS on my other unit. Am I doing too much research? Am I overlooking something? It is too late after you have pulled the trigger, whatever was overlooked will have to be lived with. Thanks to everyone for your input. I appreciate all comments...........crappie1133

At the rate that sonar has improved in just the past couple of years now. I am thinking if a person bought the biggest best thing out there by next year it would be obsolete as the newer better models that will come out. Just 4 or 5 years ago a 10" SI model cost over $2,000.00 and just lately some 10" SI models were selling for less than $850.00 with a way better screen view. A lot of times people see fish on there sonar and they don't trust what they see enough to fish it.
So I would say learn to use and "trust" what you have to the best of your ability and just fish more.
Be safe and good luck fishing

I think this is excellent advice!

Has any one used the Humming Bird locators with CHIRP? Are they better than the last models without the CHIRP feature?
