You can get interference from any brand of either product. Other variables also play into the equation beside name. What Rickie said is one of the best 'no money spent' ways of finding out where to look.
I agree .... Rickie's suggestion is the place to start the process of elimination. If holding the transducer and cable away from the trolling motor clears up the interference you would know for sure it is the source .... then trying the XTM transducer would be a good next step.
