How many feet have you been from when something shows up on the right side of the screen until it goes off the right side at 1.5 MPH if that matters? Trying to decide how far behind the boat is the left side of the screen

Match the screen speed with your boat speed and it should be in real time. Also you can move the cursor over on whatever is on the screen and mark it and it will show up on your map.

Activate the cursor with the 4way arrow key ... There will be an information bar appear at the top of the screen (2d, DI, or SI) ...

Move the cursor to any point on the "frozen" screen ...

    The data boxes are ...:

*Cursor = cursor depth at cursor position ...
*Depth = water depth at cursor position ...
*Distance = straight line distance from current boat position to cursor position ...
*Bearing = bearing direction to cursor position ...

I was just wondering when the transducer passes over a ball of fish and it moves to the left side just before it leaves the screen how many feet is that behind the boat? Does the screen from right to left cover 20',30' or what ever?

The distance passed under the boat will vary depending on your boat speed and the selected Chart Speed ...

I guess one could toss out a marker buoy when the target enters the screen and another when it exits the screen and then go back and measure it ...but it will be different for each Chart Speed selection ...

Before I had GPS on my sonars. I would go over structure/fish habitat, etc. soon as I seen it appear on the screen I would drop a buoy then turn around and go back from the other direction and when I seen it again which was always past the first buoy I would drop another buoy. The structure/fish habitat, etc. was between the two buoys.
Be safe and good luck fishing
