Default Rickie's toolbox and my Helix 10

My boat will never be the same. Every time Rickie gets in my boat, my Helix 10 and 1199HD get a going thru. When he showed up for our trip with Mike on Thursday, he showed up with a toolbox that would hold most every marine electronics item I've ever owned. I had no idea Kobalt made such a box. When opened, Mike's eyes rolled back in his head. He had probably never seen such. I'll leave the contents up to Rickie to display publicly.

Rickie did take my Da-ducer apparatus and bolt who knows how many transducers of every make into it to hook up on my Helix 10DI. I mention my boat as being a Podunk Ideas test-platform. It was never more so than Thursday. While Mike and I were having little success finding crappie on cranks, the mad professor was spinning all kinds of magic on the front of my Excel.

Once he got done proving his theories for the world and taking pics of each screen, he did take time to take the other back seat. Green carp fear him!!

Be careful!! He's been looking for an excuse for the two of us to head down toward the Big 4 to see if KY tactics will catch those crank crappie down there. He does on-the-water training in your boat.

It sure is handy sometimes having Doug's Excel Bay Pro 203 and 140 Suzuki engine he bought from Big River Marine as a test platform when he is not actively on a guide trip with his Crappie Gills and More guide service ... (Doug does actually fish for fun occasionally) ...

While he and Mike (kylakelover here at Crappie.com) were pulling custom painted Arkie 350's out the back from the SideKick Double seat mounted Millenniums (with my own da chair holdit brackets of course) - I was able to do some long overdue xducer experiements with his Humminbird HELIX 10 DI ... (more on the successful xducer experiments in an upcoming future thread) ...
    ----

It does seem when I get to use the Hiteks myself on Doug's boat, that the species of fish I catch (green carp) don't match the crappie.com shirt I'm wearing ... Geez ...

Oh and here's my Kobalt "tackle box" Doug mentioned ...

How's that for getting in a plug for all the great sponsors here who make this place possible. I'm sure somebody got left out.

I knew it. The Helix 10DI and 1199HD were bought from Brian at BBG Marine.

Rickie - is that one transducer tilted so you can use one side of the SI as a DI?

What a great afternoon on the lake. It's hard to imagine being in a boat with more fishing and electronics knowledge. Not to mention I've never fished with two nicer fellows. I learned a ton of information. Unfortunately it was an expensive afternoon. I now need new electronics, crank baits, new seats and some more Podunk accessories. Lol I can't believe they forgot to mention my crank bait cat!!
