Humminbird GPS Puck Setup
For those of you running the heading sensor, are you just using it on the bow or at the transom? I currently have the AS GRP on the transom and connected to my 998c hdsi unit at the console. I'm planning on upgrading the console unit to Helix 10 G2N and sticking the 998c up on the bow. My plan was to keep the AS GRP puck back near the transom transducer for accuracy in marking structure and then add a heading puck up front for the bow unit so I can see my direction when slow trolling. When I'm graphing at the console, I'm usually moving fast enough that the arrow shows up on the maps anyways so figured there's not much need for the heading sensor back there.
This setup made the most sense in my head. If you disagree, let me know why. Thanks.
