Terrova I pilot link spot loc problem
So this weekend I was out on the lake trying my new Terrova out and something strange happened. I got to my fishing spot and put the spot loc on because the wind was blowing pretty hard and I wanted to have a chance to put my poles in the water before getting on the spot I wanted to fish. After a few seconds of sitting in the spot it just starts going in circles like crazy. I stopped the prop and thought I might have hit a button on the remote so I went on about my business. I used the auto pilot feature all day and it worked awesome. But I tried to do spot loc again and the same thing happened. I called minn kota yesterday and they are saying check the wires and check the voltage and check the connections. Well this is a brand new boat. It simply unplugged my other motor and plugged this on in. I never had a problem at all with the motor guide. I am going to check this stuff but I know that is not the problem. So what I want to know is have you guys ever had this to happen?

Had that happen a couple of times but not on spot lock. Never had a problem with spot lock but I don't use it a lot. Just to do what you were doing. Bad GPS signal could affect it but that would have affected your autopilot also. Did you do any updates on your link controller? I have read where sometimes you need to update the controller to latest version. Might figure out how to check which version you have and check website to see if it's up to date.

I've had that happen a couple of times it just went in a 50' circle at rabbit speed, I just reach down and unplug the trolling motor plug wait a minute the plug in and start over
Spot lock on my unit is a joke most of the time
just like no more updates on my 1198 si and my 1159hd DI units, 1159 still has a glitch when switching transducer on the sonar screen it jumps to the alarm screen and still no volume control on the unit ??

Did you give the Terrova time to pick up satellites for the GPS? Usually if I have problems with my spot lock I did not give the Terrova time once it was in the water to lock onto the satellites. Normally I will give it a few minutes to make sure it is locked on.
