I have been fighting a losing battle with a MK Edge 40 as I have started trolling more while spider rigging and pulling cranks. The motor just doesn't have enough umph for my G3 1760 in a decent wind or at high speed. Let alone the inability to adjust speed. So I've been thinking about an upgrade to a MK Powerdrive V2. My dilemma is that I currently run a Lowrance Elite 4x HDI on TM. The Powerdrive doesn't really have a great way to deal with that cable up the shaft. How disappointed will I be, if I move that transducer for the down scan to the transom, narrow beam and all?

Here are two ways to keep your transducer up front. Both CdC sponsors. The first is a way to secure the cable out of the way of the TM shaft while the second is a separate assembly which mounts the transducer away from the TM all together.

Interesting approaches, the flex tube might be an option for me. Does that coil get snagged on a lot of stuff?
