Odd HB 688 Behavior

(Also posted at Walleye Central) I run my 688 in summer and Ice mode. I ran it fine early this season in ice mode and then I used HB PC software to import 500 waypoints of trees, rock piles, etc. I imported some just fine and noticed no change in behavior of the unit.

Then I added a few more and noticed a feature called Custom Text. So I added my name and phone number. The custom text shows up on the startup screen. I also noticed a wierd script at the bottom of the screen. Then all of a sudden out on the ice my depth readings were double what the lake depth really was. I called HB tech support when on the ice, she ran me through some things and said to send the ducer in. I failed to mention the weird script at the startup.

They sent me a new ice ducer. Today I took it to the ice and it was doing the same thing. No change. Tonight I removed all the waypoints and removed the Custom Text. It took a few startups and shutoffs and finally the weird script stopped appearing at the startup.

Then I added the waypoints again without any Custom Texts. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Has anybody seen the weird script on the startup screen after adding map features or Custom Text from HB PC?
