Thread: Trouble need help

Eleven months ago I bought a Lowrance Elite 7 DI Combo at Cabela's - for the past 3 or 4 trips that unit would just go to a black screen. At times you could just power it back up and everything would be ok. Yesterday it seemed as though the unit would shutdown even more than before. I have not called Cabela's or Lowrance yet and not sure about the warranty. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or possible next step would be appreciated.

Intermittent or erratic power is usually caused by low or bad battery, too small of wire to carry the amperage over the length of the wire, or bad power connections ...

The simplest test is to remove the unit power cable from its 1st connection in the wiring circuit and test that short power cable connected directly to the battery ...

If the issue goes away - there are issues in your power wiring circuit somewhere ...
