    Default New trolling motor

Trolling motor shot craps, going to buy a new one. I'm going to upgrade the electronics to a 360 bow mount. Should I get a longer shaft trolling motor to get the 360 transducer down in the water and away from the prop? Trolling motor that is getting replaced is a minn Kota maxxum with a 36 inch shaft.

The new Ultrex is supposed to have a 360 mount ..... not sure when it's available .... and a LOT of coin.

Don't want to spend a lot of coin. I fish a lot, and I'm hard on things. I go thru trolling motors more than the average guy.

The AS 360 TM is normally mounted above the TM prop. If installing a 360 on a TM, then that would pretty much limit choices of TMs. Couldn't find any info on the actual shaft length though. There are probably a couple of other options for mounting the 360 on bow other than on the TM.

Ooooo. It was my understanding if you wanted the 360 on the bow, the 360 transducer had to go on the TM shaft. I don't want the retracting one off the stern. I will ask the person I buy it from. Thanks for the replies
