    Default Navionics questions

A friend of mine gave me a navionics card. He used it in his Lowrance units and I am wondering do I need to do anything other than just put it in my Humminbird 899ci HD Si unit and it will work. Or do I have to do anything special because it was used in a Lowrance. Thanks for any and all help as I really have no idea of how these cards work.

Opened case and there is also another card in the case with hotmaps premium wrote on it.

Both should work. I've moved my Navionics between my HB Helix and my Lowrance HDS with no problems.
However, that card looks like a regular SD card instead of the Navionics card.

Thanks for the help the navionics card with hotmaps premium wrote on it was under the SD card. I will try it out when I get to go back fishing. I hope they have the little reservoir that I fish on it.

The SD card probably has all his secret honey holes save on it. If so, then that will be brand specific. You might want to ask him what was on the SD card and what brand unit did he download from.
HB and Lowrance use different parameters for creating way points I believe.

Thanks Searay for the information about the SD card. I take it that this is just a regular SD card and I can just use my own SD card (that I updated my humminbird unit with) to save waypoints created on my lake. I will ask him Sunday at Church if he wants the SD card back as he fishes a different lake than I do and like you said it may have his honey holes on it. Or do I have to use this(his) SD card with this navionics card?

The Sandisk SD Card is not needed to use the Navionics map card ...

I looked at this post again, that is not a Navionics Map card. They typically say Navionics on them with a Code of the map.

He said the Navionics chip was under the SD chip. I thought the same thing.
