If you're referring to my comment about adding waypoints ... I took all of mine off the internet website that our Dept of Fish/Wildlife has, showing where they've put cover in our lakes. I had to use a GPS conversion website to get the correct coordinates that my unit would take. I wrote them all down, after converting them, so now I have a backup in case something happens to the unit or those waypoints in the unit. I also used Google Earth to look at several lakes, and used the "history" sliding scale button to go back and see the lakes when they were down to Winter Pool in years past ... and marked some spots where standing & downed timber showed up consistently over recent years. And I've been given coordinates by a buddy of mine, that I also recorded and converted, then entered into the unit.
I'm running a Lowrance Elite 5 DSI, and it seems like everyone else is using a Humminbird or some other brand of depthfinder that uses a different set of GPS coordinates.... thus the need for the conversion website. ( GPS Coordinate Converter, Maps and Info )
