    Default Terrova on Ranger 178C

Is anyone running a Terrova on a 178c?

Curious if you are using or if there are benifits to the Minn Kota Universal Mounting Bracket (MKA-47) with the Terrova on the 178C?
Is the 45" shaft on the terrova long enough for the 178C? I was concerned if I went with the 54" shaft that stowing it would be a problem. (The head unit hanging over/outside the boat while trailering.

The Minn Kota that is mounted on the boat now hangs over the front of the boat (Off center of bow) a few inches and has not caused problems loading/unloading but I have read where this has been an issue for some with non cable drive systems?

shaft length on a Terrova shouldn't make any difference in the stowed position, except where the head of the unit is in the boat. The motor will still be locked in the base just like the short shaft. That mounting bracket has a pin that you can remove and pull the base back about 5" and then put the pin back in.

I should have provided a little information in my question. The Tm that I have on the boat now is mounted at an angle so the head of the unit lays just inside the boat when in the stowed position. If it has much more shaft length the head of the unit will hang out over the outside of the boat while driving down the road. You bring up a good point with the bracket though. With the universal bracket in the retracted position the head of this Tm will be protruding outside the boat. Thanks for pointing that out.

i was in hopes of staying with the same mounting holes on the boat if I change to a terrova.
