Helix Question(s)

Is there a cobo unit (Helix 7 preferrably) that has DI,Regular Sonar, and GPS or is it DI or Sonar and GPS?

Is there a unit that uses a full size SD card and not the micro SD Cards? I see me very easily fubling a micro and ti being lost forever when I try to get into the adapter.

How does/do the Helix units compare to the XX8 units in terms of clarity and bang for the buck? In other words a Helix 7 with DI and GPS is comparable to what XX8 Unit(s)?

THINK THE HELIX IS BRIGHTER THAN XX8,ALSO LOWRANCE HAS A GOOD DI ,ELITE 7 WITH CHIRP,2D AND GPS

Will probably stick with HB due to moving another unit to the front when a new one is purchased. Hope to network them.

Pretty sure all the helix units have straight sonar. The Helix is much crisper and brighter than the older humminbirds. Ive owned several models and even the helix 5 was brighter and crisper than the 899 that I purchased later. Not sure which helix models use the full size vs the micro sd. I know my helix 10 uses the full size as well as my 899. The helix 5 was a micro card and I agree it is too small for comfort and one of the reasons I returned it.

Yep Helix 9 or better has full size card slots, 2 of them.
The 5 and 7 series have a single mSD slot.
The Helix 9 DI / GPS should do what you're looking for. The 2D beams will be 200/455Khz and DI will use 455/800KHz.
There is a trolling motor XDCR that has 200/83KHz available for an upgrade fee @ HB.

There are 7 HELIX 7 models ... All have 2d (except HELIX 7X GPS) ...

Mapping/Chartplotting only on GPS models ...

DI models are dedicated DI and 200/455 2d ...

SI models are SI, blended DI from SI, and 200/83 2d ...

Thanks. The HB site wasn't real clear. I guess I was getting confused in that there were sonar only models and what looked to me to be DI only models. But if the DI models have traditional 2d Sonar then that is what I am after.

Big jump in price from 7 to 9 though. Not sure I can justify that for the full size card slots.

There's a bunch more square inches of display.
I'm selling my 899 which has the full size card slots in favor of a Helix 10 or 12 shortly....

Correct ...the HELIX 7 DI also has 200kHz/455kHz 2d ... Just no mapping ...
