    Default H Bird 598 issue

Maybe someone can help me out.

Every time I start the motor the unit loses screen image and turns a weird mixture of colors.

I cannot exit in any way shape or form, no buttons work and I have to remove the head and start over from power up.

This is my stern unit, the bow unit is attached to same batteries but different wire for power. Have no problem with it.

I am guessing the motor is stealing to much power when cranking.

Should I have to run another separate wire to power the bird??

    Thanks
    Brad

Brad, where is that unit wired in. If on a fuse panel, Yes run a seperate wire from finder to the cranking battery with it's own ring eye connector. First chance you get might want to get that battery load tested also. It could be getting weak but I suspect it is your wiring.

Even a blind hog finds an acorn.
For some reason I had already ran a duplex wire from the stern to bow, found it taped off under the deck in front. Was long enough to reach battery.

Hooked it to depth finder and battery, problem GONE.

    Thanks
    Brad
