It's my understanding that the "Encrypt" menu selection under the Setup tab will not show in the Main Menu System until you actually insert a SD Card into the unit ...

Then once the "Encryption" is done go to Humminbird.com, create a Chart Select account (which is different from your actual HB account) ...and follow directions to get the Chart Select download tool on your PC ...

A Chart Select account is needed to purchase the single maps thru the website ...
