    Default Double Duty

I have a 1198 mounted at the bow (with transducer on tm) that I can move back to the console and use the system there with tm down.
The problem is dealing with the excess wire while sitting at the bow. Is there any type of device that would retract the cables and release then?

Are you meaning you move the head unit from the bow to the console (with the same TM mounted xducer cable attached) ...??

And the xducer cable is now laying across your boat deck ..??

I have one graph with 2 transducers. One on t motor, the other on transom. I have a selector switch from hummingbird to choose which transducer. I wonder if it could be wired different to use one transducer and 2 mounting spots. I leave the graph up front, select transom transducer while using big motor, only problem the outboard interferes with side imaging, have to trim up

Yes with the same xducer. gps, and power cable attached, I move the head unit form bow to console and yes the cables are laying down the side of my deck.
I have about 8 ft of slack cables that I need something to take up this slack while sitting at the bow.

Limited budget is the reason for trying to use one unit ( head, gps. xducer ) to serve two locations.

An inexpensive scenario is a small round container that the cables could be coiled into when at the bow ...

A more expensive scenario would be to set up a 2nd station with xducer, GPS antenna, power cord, cable collector, and gimbal bracket ...

I like the small round container ideal. Drill a hole on each side of the container and run cable thru container an pull in and out the slack cable as needed.
    Problem solved thanks.
